Students will be admitted to Riara University (RU) any time of the year, but they will generally report at the University at the beginning of each session, i.e. in January, in May or in September. Some programmes may admit students at different times or less frequently.

What you need to know!

Students will be admitted to RU any time of the year, but they will generally report to the university at the beginning of each Semester. Some programmes may admit students at different times or less frequently.

2024 January – April Semester

  • 8th January – 20th April 2024
  • RLS Students: 8th January 2024 – 27th April 2024

2024 May – August Semester

  • 6th May- 17th August 2024
  • RLS Students: 6th May 2024 – 30th August 2024

2024 September – December Semester

  • 2nd September- 14th December 2024
  • RLS Students: 2nd September 2024 – 20th December 2024
  1. Postgraduate Programmes:  A first degree at minimum Upper Second Class Honors or equivalent or a Lower Second Class Honors with working experience of at least two years in relevant field for Master’s Programmes.
  2. Undergraduate Degree Programmes:  Mean grade of C+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), or equivalent qualifications.
  3. Diploma Programmes:  Mean grade of C (plain) or C (minus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education KCSE or equivalent depending on a program requirements.
  4. Certificate:   D+ or equivalent at KCSE

In addition to the minimum entry requirements, there may be other programme-specific requirements with regard to the mean grade, subject clusters, individual subject grades, entry exams, motivation statements, or other requirements as may be approved by the Senate from time to time.

  2. Pay a non-refundable application fee of Kshs. 2,000 through MPESA Paybill number 805702, Account Name: your name.
  3. Send the application form with the following to admissions@riarauniversity.ac.ke :
    1. Copy of national ID/Passport or Birth Certificate
    2. Copies of academic certificates and all transcripts.
    3. One (1) recent passport-size photograph.
  4. The admission team will send you feedback with your admission letter and further guidance on joining our University. (within 5 working days)
